ASUS Group's Taiwan AI Cloud, the Tainan City Government, and the Administration for Digital Industries, moda, jointly hosted the "2025 AIHPCcon" Taiwan AI Supercomputing Conference. In the afternoon session, Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che and ASUS Co-Chief Executive Officer Samson Hu jointly signed a memorandum of understanding for the "AI City Demonstration City" project. With "AI-Powered Sustainable Cities: From Compute to Community" as the core, the project focuses on three major aspects: "deepening smart governance", "digital empowerment of industries", and "local talent cultivation". Starting from the needs of citizens, it aims to drive a sustainable new blueprint for urban governance and industrial innovation.

Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che stated, "Tainan, as a key hub in the Southern Taiwan Silicon Valley Program, possesses abundant green electricity, the advantages of being a national grid central node, and a semiconductor cluster. This collaboration with ASUS and international giant AMD is not only about deepening urban governance but also about creating a city-level computing base with 'sovereign AI,' accelerating Tainan's upgrade in smart transportation, disaster risk prediction, and the robotics industry." He emphasized that the city government will continue to open up municipal data and facilities as demonstration sites for AI applications, addressing citizens' pain points in areas such as transportation, disaster prevention, and care; at the same time, through the dual engines of "Shalun R&D and Liouying Manufacturing," it will connect local hidden champion supply chains to create the most important robotics R&D and manufacturing center in southern Taiwan.

ASUS Co-Chief Executive Officer Samson Hu stated, "We are honored to collaborate with the Tainan City Government to promote the AI City demonstration project. With AI and net zero as our dual axes, and combining ASUS's long-standing experience in computing architecture, smart transportation, and urban applications, we aim to help the Tainan robotics industry take root in the urban market and create a city model with a sustainable vision."

Peter Wu, General Manager of Taiwan AI Cloud, stated, "Taiwan possesses significant advantages in AI computing power supply, model enhancement, and industrial applications. Leveraging its comprehensive supply chain integration capabilities, Taiwan effectively promotes the application of AI in various industries and urban scenarios. Taiwan AI Cloud also provides over one million hours of computing power annually to support startups and research teams, and assists in integrating computing power platforms, AI Foundries, and reliable models, laying an important foundation for the development of AI cities."

AIHPCcon continues the theme of "driving AI development with computing power". The morning session was hosted by Taiwan AI Cloud and the Administration for Digital Industries, moda. It was the final event of this year's "AI International Technology Day" series, focusing on computing power infrastructure, model performance, and urban applications, echoing the implementation of the new ten major construction projects for AI.

The afternoon session, co-hosted by Taiwan AI Cloud and the Tainan City Government, was themed "AI City," showcasing city-level AI initiatives. Through keynote speeches and the forum "AI City: Building a City-Level AI Innovation Ecosystem," the session comprehensively demonstrated Taiwan's strengths in AI computing power, model training, and AI Foundry, further empowering cross-domain integration of cities and ecosystems, accelerating the implementation of applications in transportation, healthcare, disaster prevention, and other fields, and forming a replicable and exportable Taiwanese AI development model.
